I've Been a Very Naughty Girl

I've been very naughty indeed! Why? Because I've neglected this blog so badly lately. It was really my goal to post once a week. Once a week! How hard is that?

Apparently, it's very hard because I seem incapable of doing it.

The truth is that I haven't had anything to write about lately. Our biggest problem is trying to see if we could get our daughter into the highly gifted middle school magnet when she only tested gifted. It looks like we'll have to get her retested, which is a huge hurdle to begin with. Then, there are no guarantees that she'll test any better. In fact, she'll probably get about the same score. Still, we have nothing to lose by trying. Why do we want her in the highly gifted middle school magnet? All her good friends will probably be going, and it actually sounds like an easier program than the gifted middle school in terms of the amount of homework. Go figure. If she doesn't get in, we're going to really have to search around to see what middle school will be a good fit.

That should be fun.

Other than that, nothing much is happening. Hubby lost an appendix last week, but other than surgery there is nothing else happening in this neck of the woods.

I hope all is well with you!

  1. Don't feel bad about not making targets. I think it's best to stick to quality rather than quantity.

If you're just blogging for the sake of meeting a deadline, then it's likely to have little impact. If you're blogging about an important experience or something that is on your mind, then you're blogging for the right reasons. They're the posts that are the best.

    Cut yourself a little slack.

    1. You're absolutely right, of course. However, having a goal can bring structure and make one set aside time to think if they anything worthy to say.

Otherwise, it's so easy to fall into the abyss of not setting aside time to write. Before you know it, a month goes by and you've written nothing. It's an easy trap to fall into and one that I'm really trying hard to avoid.

      But not hard enough, apparently!
