Why Do Men Have Nipples?

During my daughter's bath the other night, we started talking about private spots. She asked if women have more private spots than men do. I answered yes, we do. Our bathing suits cover two areas, men's bathing suits cover only one area.

My daughter gave this some thought, then asked, "Why do men have nipples? They don't use them, do they?" I answered that men don't use their nipples and that I don't know why they have them. I quickly added that she should ask her dad that question. She agreed thinking that he would surely know the answer.

Unfortunately, my daughter never did ask him. I think she forgot. Sigh.

That would have been friggin' hilarious!

  1. If I had a dime for every time I've wanted my kids to ask my husband something like that...you're right, it would be soooo hilarious!

  2. In case you are wondering, it's because the female form is the human proto type so to speak. All babies start out developing as female until the Y chromosone kicks in and directs cells to start making boy bits.

  3. See, my husband would have come up with a very unfortunate response, I'm sure.

  4. Here in the States little girls have "more" private areas, but on the cruise, we saw girls as old as 9 wearing only the bottom half of their bikinis! Most I believe were from Spain.
